Ashanti Bruce
Paralegal
Ashanti Bruce, a Brooklyn native, is passionate about the pursuit of restorative justice and equity. She joins Youth Represent after a year as a Financial Restructuring Legal Assistant at Milbank LLP.
Ashanti graduated with distinction from Yale University with a B.A. in Black Studies and Political Science. On campus, she served as the Director of Yale Black Women Coalition, helped to organize Yale’s largest student conference, Yale Black Solidarity Conference, was a fellow of the Yale Undergraduate Prison Project (YUPP), and tutored New Haven students in the Yale Urban Improvement Corps. Additionally, in her academic career, she interned at social justice organizations, such as in the Department of Research and Academic Engagement at the Drug Policy Alliance and at Solitary Watch, drafting and revising reports advocating for the end of solitary confinement.
Outside of Youth Represent, Ashanti volunteers as a College Career Coach at Breakthrough New York and spends her time perfecting her family’s recipes.
