Summer 2018 Internship Opportunity
Youth Represent is seeking law students for paid, full-time internships for the summer of 2018. Interns at Youth Represent gain a variety of hands-on experience and participate in all aspects of our work, including direct legal and reentry representation (client interviewing, motion writing, legal strategizing, investigation, etc.), policy reform, criminal history analysis, assisting with teaching Know Your Rights workshops, and legal research and writing. Interns work directly with court-involved youth under the age of 25 in all five boroughs of New York City. There is opportunity to represent clients in Criminal Court and Family Court, as well as in administrative venues, such as school suspension hearings, license denial appeals, or eviction proceedings.
If interested, please e-mail a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript, writing sample, and two references to Resumes@YouthRepresent.org with the subject line “Summer 2018 Intern – [your last name]”. Please combine all materials into one document in either Word or PDF format. All applications must be submitted by 5 pm on January 9, 2018. Interviews, including phone interviews, will take place between January 16 and January 24.
Youth Represent is an equal opportunity employer that considers all applications without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation or preference, religion, marital status, disability, veteran status, citizenship status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
