Director of Communications and Culture
Aseanté Renee, LMSW, is a therapist, philanthropic consultant, and social justice strategist with over two decades of experience in social-cause marketing, facilitation, and culturally inclusive community engagement work across the nation. Much of her work lives at the intersection of equity, wellness, and communication.
Aseanté is committed to narrative change work that uplifts the voices of those with lived experiences and ensures their expertise is centered in creative decisions. Some of her other work includes director and producer of the digital series, Ever After: Stories of Violence, Accountability, and Healing (myeverafter.org) a docuseries exploring what crime survivors perspectives in engaging the criminal justice system. Prior to this role, Aseanté was the Director of Communications for Common Justice, a nonprofit developing and advancing solutions to violence without relying on incarceration. She was also a policy advisor with the National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice where she led the operationalizing of reconciliation work between communities of color and local law enforcement in six pilot cities.
She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and her BA in Marketing from Hampton University.
