A Community-Based Model for Legal Services
Youth Represent operates through a community lawyering model in which our attorneys partner with community-based organizations across New York City. We travel to partner sites to provide Know Your Rights workshops, staff training, and legal services, ensuring that young people can access support in the spaces where they already receive services.
Through these partnerships, we embed holistic, interdisciplinary support within workforce development programs, alternative-to-incarceration providers, schools, shelters, medical-legal settings, and other youth-serving organizations. Our legal team includes attorneys, social workers, and paralegals who work collaboratively to provide coordinated legal representation and support that address both immediate legal needs and broader barriers to stability.
