Simmi Kaur, Esq.

Staff Attorney

Simmi Kaur comes from Nadala, Punjab via Flushing, Queens. Prior to joining Youth Represent, Simmi worked as a Criminal Public Defender at the Bronx Defenders for four and a half years. As an Early Defense Attorney, she handled misdemeanors and all non-homicide felonies, and provided holistic representation, usually beginning before arrest, and ending at trial or a negotiated resolution.

Simmi received her B.A. in Political Science and Media Studies summa cum laude from CUNY Hunter College and her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. Simmi is a first-generation college graduate. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, dancing and eating her mom's delicious food.
